Reading Strategy - Main Idea
When we read, it is important to keep in mind the message that they author is trying to convey. That is, what is the author trying to tell us. Often we recognize the topic of a passage (what the passage is about) and that can be recognized quickly and usually summarized in a word or two. Main idea is slightly more difficult to recognize. Basically, main idea is the author’s point and it can be stated using a sentence.
Directions: This is a Main Idea Scavenger Hunt. Each reading passage features the same topic: Bridges The main idea of each passage, however is different.

Using a smart device, (iPod Touch, iPad, Smartphone), scan each QR code and read the passage.
Within each QR code lies an image where a letter has been 'found' within the structure of various bridges.
Write the letter that appears in the riddle box at the end of the packet.
Answer every question correctly and you will have all of the letters in the riddle response at the end of this packet.
